George F. "Dunk" Darragh, 94

George F. "Dunk" Darragh passed away May 26, 2022 at St. James Healthcare surrounded by his loving family.

Dunk was born Jan. 23, 1928 in Butte, the third child of George W. Darragh and Margaret "Babe" Flynn. He graduated from Boy Central High School in 1946. While in high school, he met the love of his life, Shirley M. Kelly. They were married August 5, 1950 at Sacred Heart Church. They remained inseparable for 64 years. From their loving union five children were born; George (Peggy) Darragh, Teri (Jerry) Lynch, Laurie (George) Palmer, Debbie (Jerry) Williams, Tom (Teresa McGrath) Darragh.

Dunk worked for the Anaconda Company following high school. Dunk had a long career eventually retiring as the foreman of the pipe gang.

He is survived by his children and spouses, grandchildren and spouses; Chris (Stacey) Darragh, Kelly (Rachelle) Darragh, Katie (Derek) Gustafson, Marci (Brian) Topel, Gary Lynch, Jered (Leah) Lynch, Brian (Shannon) Lynch, Jodell Palmer Rodoni, Jason Palmer, Andy (Desi) Palmer, 26 great grandchildren, brother; Rev. Jack Darragh, brother in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Sally Kelly. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley, parents, sister Darlene, sister and brother-in-law Corinne and Joe "Gub" Shea, sister's in-law and brothers-in-law Chuck and Betty Uggetti, Carl and Patty Hafer, and brother-in-law John Kelly, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dunk was the number 1 fan of all his grandchildren's and great grand-children's sports and other activities traveling throughout the state to watch them. He enjoyed spending time at the cabin at the Moulton where family and friends were always welcome.

The family extends a heartfelt appreciation to the 5 ^th floor of St. James Healthcare.

Visitation is Wednesday, June 1 ^st at St. Anns Catholic Church from 10:00 to 11:00 am, with the funeral mass at 11:00, and burial immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery.
