Gayle F. Barry passed away at home on July 17th, 2026  with her loving husband by her side.   She was born November 20th, 1948, in Butte, the daughter of Arlene and Frank Skender.

Gayle was proud to be from Butte, she graduated from Butte High school and then went on to college at Montana Tech and the University of Montana.

Gayle enjoyed history and had the honor of telling people that her grandmother Mary Lawrence who was an Austrian-Hungarian women who boarded The Titanic from Southampton, England at the age of 27 was a survivor.  Mary stated that the Titanic's captain, William Smith, told her that "not even God almighty can sink the ship" just moments before the liner began filling with icy water.  Mary eventually made her home in Meaderville.

Gayle's greatest pride and joy was her 1979 Camero, which she purchased brand new and she still owns. The Camero will be following behind the hearse from the funeral service.

Gayle met and married her loving, devoted husband, Leroy Barry. in 1982.

Lee and Gayle had a New Foundland dog named Bo, Gayle's only pet. Together with Bo they enjoyed camping at Wise River.

Lee and Gayle enjoyed traveling and attending football games, Gayle was a New Orleans Saint's fan and loved the city of New Orleans. There travels brought them to New Orleans three times, where they attended two of the Saint's football games.   They also took many trips to Las Vegas, attending the Academy of Country Music Awards, and enjoying the many different sites and resorts that Las Vegas offers. Lee always ensured Gayle had the best food and drinks while in Las Vegas including a surprise glass of Dom Perignon which Gayle loved. Lee also ensured that Gayle received a bottle of Dom Perignon when she retired and on her 70th birthday.

Gayle worked at Eggers IGA and retired from Northwestern Energy Credit Union.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Arlene Skender; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Neil Bolton, and Ben and Joan McCoy.  She is survived by her husband, Leroy Barry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leroy and Nikki would like to say a special thank you to Trek Hospice, especially Wendy, for the excellent care they provided to Gayle. We will be forever grateful.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, after 11:00 am in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel.  Funeral services will be celebrated at 12:00 PM (noon).  Rite of Committal will follow in the Mausoleum at Mountain View Cemetery.   Memorials are suggested to Our Lady of the Rockies, Spirit of Columbia Gardens Carousel, or the charity of the donor's choice.
