Frank Kochevar Jr. passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2024. He was born on March 15, 1934, to Frank and Mildred (Cor) Kochevar in Trimountain, Michigan.

In May of 1948, the family moved to Butte, Montana where Frank Senior had employment in the mines. After graduating from Boys Central High School in May of 1952, Frank Jr. worked various jobs including the railroad section crew, cemetery, and gas station to earn his tuition to attend Montana School of Mines in Butte. While attending college, Frank belonged to the Air Force ROTC. After completing a year at Montana School of Mines, Frank transferred to Carol College in Helena, MT to prepare for priesthood. He graduated in May of 1957 and was an honor student throughout his five years of college. Having changed his mind about priesthood, Frank enrolled in an IBM computer program at Butte Business College. He then went to work on a temporary basis for the State of Montana in Helena as a computer operator. He then secured employment through the aid of the State Department, for Montana Physicians Services (Blue Shield) in Helena. After commuting between Butte and Helena for several years, Frank decided to seek employment in Butte. He went to work for the Anaconda Company as a computer operator and after several months, he was sent to different schools in Los Angelos, San Francisco, and Seattle to learn to become a computer programmer. His computer programing career took him to various places including Wisconsin and Minnesota before he came back to Butte. In September of 1970, he secured a job with the US Postal Service in Butte where he worked until he was given an option of early retirement to care for his mother, which eventually became a 24-hour caregiving job.

Frank loved and cared for everyone in his life and was "Uncle Frank" to many. He enjoyed spending time with all the kids and could aways be found supporting his nieces and nephews in their sports and activities. He was a devout Catholic and attended numerous churches in the Butte community.

Frank will be deeply missed and has touched the hearts of many. He has left a lasting impression on everyone who had the opportunity to meet him.

A special thanks to The Beehive Homes of Butte for caring for Frank over the last four years and Senior Solutions Hospice for their care. Also, a special thanks to Father Baretta for visiting Frank in his final days.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his nephews, Dan Sullivan and Gary Sullivan; and his niece, Debbie Paige.  He is survived by his sister, Patricia McGrath; his nephew, Mike Sullivan; his great-nieces, Katelynn (Tyler) Simpson, and her children, Sarah Sullivan, Charlotte, and Hailey; his great-nephews, Zach Sullivan and Ryan Sullivan; his great-niece, Elisha (Charlie) Keene, and her children, Shandon and Aislynn; and his great-nephew, Travis Paige, and his daughter Arianna Garcia.  He is also survived by numerous cousins, including members of the Cor, Chopp, Liddy, Hepola, Morrison, and Sullivan families.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on March 15, 2024, Frank's birthday, at 11:00 am in St. Patrick's Catholic Church.  Memorials are suggested to the Alheimer's Association.
