Ethan Michael Andrews

Ethan Michael Andrews, 23, of Butte, Montana, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 31, 2026 in Butte.

Born on November 25, 2002, in Iowa City, Iowa, Ethan is the son of Curtis and Laurie Andrews. He grew up in Butte, where he distinguished himself academically, graduating as one of Butte High School's valedictorians. He later earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with honors from the University of Utah.

Ethan was known for his extraordinary intellect, curiosity, and unique perspective on the world. He possessed a rare ability to immerse himself in new subjects and quickly develop a remarkable depth of understanding. Whether the topic was chess, technology, politics, philosophy, Jiu Jitsu, or countless other interests, Ethan approached learning with enthusiasm, precision, and an insatiable desire to understand more.

An accomplished artist, Ethan had a particular passion for painting. He found both joy and challenge in oil painting and created works that reflected his thoughtful and analytical nature. He also enjoyed playing chess, piano, and spending time with friends and family.

Those who knew Ethan will remember his wit, intelligence, and willingness to challenge ideas and think deeply about the world around him. He valued intellect, curiosity, and meaningful conversation, and he had a gift for finding both humor and insight in everyday life. Above all, he saw the world through a lens entirely his own.

Ethan was preceded in death by his younger sister, Camille. He is survived by his loving parents, Curtis and Laurie Andrews; his siblings, Taylor Andrews, Evan Andrews, Cohen Andrews, and Jessica Andrews; along with numerous extended family members, friends, classmates, and loved ones whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Though his life was far too short, Ethan's impact on those who loved him will endure. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Funeral services will be held at 1351 Mount Highland Dr. Butte, MT 59701 on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive guests starting at 10:00 AM.
