Ellen Marie Henderson passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Crest Nursing Home in Butte, Montana.  Ellen was born on November 15, 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Blake) Scott.

Ellen grew up in Arizona, but later relocated to Texas.  She worked as a School Bus Driver and later was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator at a Coal Mine in Jewett, Texas, a small town near Donie.  It was here she met the love of her life, her best friend, Thomas Opie.  They remained constant companions and partners in crime for nearly 33 years.  The couple had recently moved back to Butte.

Ellen enjoyed playing video games and gambling.   Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving in May.  She loved cooking, and gathering her family for Thanksgiving in May, because this allowed everyone to enjoy being together without the stress of the upcoming Holidays.  Her greatest joy was time spent with family and friends.

Ellen is survived by her forever love, Thomas; her sons, Mathew (Kim) Smith, and Jeff (Vickie) Smith; grandchildren JC The Pepe" (Stevie) Smith, Chelsey (Arron) Swann, and Ashley Smith; and great-grandchildren, Colton, Cassidy, Haley, and Christy.

Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time.  Duggan Dolan Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
