Elizabeth "Liz" Bonner Gilboy passed away early Tuesday morning at home with her sons by her side. Liz was born August 4, 1943, the only child of James and Adelia (Rickard) Bonner and raised as a proud West Daly Street, Walkerville resident.

Liz was educated in the Butte school system attending Sherman Elementary, and Butte High School, graduating in 1961. She studied nursing in Missoula, Montana, for a short time. She then moved to Seattle where she worked until returning to her hometown of Butte.  On September 14, 1968 Liz married the love of her life Michael Gilboy in St Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church. They were happily married 37 years before Mike's passing in 2005.

She worked as a dental assistant and office manager before leaving the workforce to stay home and raise her sons. She was active volunteer and an integral part of the Emerson Elementary PTA while her children attended school. When she rejoined the workforce, she chose to work alongside her brother-in-law, Dr. George Gilboy, and sister-in-law, Flo, in their medical office for several years.  And finished up her career as office manager for Culligan Water until her retirement eleven years ago.

Liz was an avid football fan and loved watching games on TV, didn't matter if it was the NFL or college, if it was football season there was a game to watch. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and loved their visits, phone calls, and letting them "play" as there were not a lot of rules at Grandma Liz's house.  She enjoyed a much-cherished lifelong friendship with Annette Bolton.  After her retirement, the dynamic duo could be seen almost daily shopping and enjoying lunchtime meals together.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mike, Grandson Jesse Gilboy, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Dr. George and Flo Gilboy, sister-in-law Shirley Gilboy, cousins John Crowley, Dave Meier and life-long friend Annette Bolton.  She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Jim and Shauna Gilboy and Marc and Danette Gilboy. Grandchildren Bridgette Wines (Jake), Elizabeth (Christopher), Taryn, Kensley, and Addison Gilboy. Great grandsons Odin Ward, Theo and Jack Wines. Her special cousin Donna Crowley and brother-in-law, Pat Gilboy.   She was affectionately known as Aunt Bebe to the Crowley clan, her nephews, nieces and spouses; Debbie and Mike Kobler, Cheri Meier, Cindy and Bill Lyle, Sue and Todd Fayram, Cathy and Henry Waldman, Tom and Jill Crowley, Chris and Jake Petersen their families. She was Auntie Liz to Michael and Coleen Gilboy, Sue and Dan Judge, Julie Gilboy, Tim and Kathy Gilboy, Joe and Stacey Gilboy, and Dan Gilboy and their families.  A large extended family full of loving cousins and special friends also survive.

Friends are asked to join the family on Friday, December 8th at the Immaculate Conception Church at 10:00 a.m. for visitation and Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.   Internment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery to follow.  The family invites you to a reception immediately following burial at the McQueen Club.
