Edward J. Harrington passed away peacefully at St. James Healthcare on June 5 ^th 2020. Ed was born to his parents John "Jip" and Helen (Powers) Harrington on December 1 ^st , 1936.

He was married to Patricia Martin on July 12, 1958, a union that lasted 57 years until her passing in 2015. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, as well as those he served within the community. He will be remembered for his hard work and dedication as long-standing volunteer to the Butte community at the Butte Food Bank. He considered those who worked along-side him over the past 20+ years at the Food Bank to be a second family. Prior to his retirement, Ed worked tirelessly and was profoundly proud of his time at the Montana Power Company as a foreman.  He was a pure example of a man who succeeded in life through hard work and determination.

Ed is survived by his children Butch (Dori) Harrington, and their children Bryan Harrington and Heather (Randy) Sholey; Teri Harrington and her daughter Sarah Mulcahy (Joe); Sean (Debi) Harrington and their children Devin (Jennifer), Damon (Satie), and Nolan Harrington. Also, great grandchildren Joey and Reagan Mulcahy; Leo, Austyn and Huck Sholey; Haylee, Blaine, Dylan, Arabella, Adelia, Emmett, Logan and Aiden Harrington.

He is also survived by his sisters Judy (Carl) Popovich, Donna (Gene) Lutey, Jennie O'brien, and JoAnn Vernose. Sisters in- law Jean Mcgrath, Joan Thompson, and Katie (Bill) Halverson, and brother in-law Lee Anderson. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and extended family that will be forever touched by Ed's spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jip and Helen Harrington, brother Jack Harrington; father and mother in-law Frank and Patricia Martin; sister in-law Rosie Anderson, brothers in-law Dan Mcgrath, Bill Thompson, and Danny O'Brien; nieces Debbie Hollow and Susie Grosso, and nephew Danny Mcgrath.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Relative and friends may come for visitation at St. Ann's Catholic Church from 10-11 AM on Wednesday June 10 ^th . Mass will be celebrated at 11 Am followed by interment of ashes at Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will be held at Mcqueen AC from 1-3 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Butte Community Food Bank, or a charity of donor's choice.

The family would like to express great gratitude to Doctors Siddoway and Pullman for the extraordinary care, and also to the staff on the 3 ^rd floor of St. James Healthcare.
