Dorothy Ann Starcevich was born in Butte, Montana on August 24, 1927. Dorothy was the youngest of six children born to Ann and John Spear. She was raised in McQueen and graduated from Butte High School in 1945.

Dorothy married the love of her life Joseph C. Starcevich on July 15, 1951. Dorothy and Joe were blessed with two children: Joseph J. and JoAnn. In 2001, they celebrated 50 years together.

Dorothy loved Butte and settled in for 91 cherished years. She started working at Snells before moving onto Mountain Bell where she worked in the directory department. Following her time at Mountain Bell, Dorothy went on to work with her brother at Town Talk Bakery, which he owned. Here she was able to spread her charm in shooting the breeze with customers.

She was a proud member of the Sew and Sew Club for over 60 years and was the final member of the group. Dorothy also enjoyed watching sports on television and was a huge fan of Notre Dame. She was fortunate enough to be able to see them play live with her family and was frequently calling family to make sure she was squared up with what channel and time the game was on.

Another love of Dorothy's was Gene Autry, or another way of saying it is that Joe was very lucky she didn't meet Gene before meeting him. She would always pipe in when Gene was playing or if someone mentioned practically anything that was in one of his songs. Her singing will always be a cherished memory as we are "back in the saddle again….".

Dorothy was incredibly proud of her heritage and could often be heard speaking Croatian. One of her highlights was when her two year old great granddaughter told her "Sretan Bozic" (Merry Christmas).

She was a loving mother, sister, wife, aunt, and great aunt. Dorothy was also a proud grandma to her three grandchildren (and accepted grandson-in-laws as her own). Great grandchildren blessed her life the last four years and spending time together playing in Butte were fond memories.

Some of her most cherished gatherings were spent with the GSSW Club. As the matriarch of the family, she was always a hit at family gatherings.

Dorothy moved to Billings in August of 2018 to be closer to family. While it was difficult to leave Butte after 91 short years, it was a blessing to be able to spend more time with the great grandchildren and have family close to visit. Dorothy joined Joe in Heaven on September 22, 2019.

Dorothy is survived by her son Joseph J Starcevich (Susan) and their children Katie (Luke) Gloystein and Joseph A. (Jenni Page) Starcevich; her daughter JoAnn Sustarsic and JoAnn's daughter Chrissie (Kurtis); two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Joe; her parents Ann and John; brothers W.J. (Katherine), George (Stella), and John; and sisters Irene (Louis) and Francis (Ronnie).

Visitation will be held at at Duggan Dolan Mortuary, on Tuesday, October 1st at 5 PM followed by a rosary at 6 PM.   There will be a 10 AM visitation Wednesday followed by the funeral at 11 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church.
