Dorothy Marie Sullivan, 83, went to her eternal rest on January 15, 2020 at Brookdale Spring Meadows Retirement Community in Bozeman. Dottie was born on May 15, 1936 to Jack and Dorothy (Sullivan) Pomroy.

Dottie married her childhood sweetheart, Gerald F. Sullivan, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Married for 61 years, Dottie and Jerry raised seven children of whom Dottie never tired of expressing her pride. They remained constant companions until his death in August of 2015.

At the young age of 27, after giving birth to her youngest twins, Dottie suffered a tragic leg amputation that nearly ended her life. The family will always be indebted to Dr. Lester Savage, a renowned surgeon, who pioneered bypass graft surgery; he is credited with saving her life. In-spite of the difficulties and health complications she endured as a result, she remained strong, and tried to live life to the fullest.

Dottie was a wonderful mother who faithfully cared for her family and friends and was very close to her siblings. She loved to sing and dance, pray and dote on her beloved grandchildren. She enjoyed crafting and baking and she deeply loved the Lord. Her unwavering faith in God was shaped by her close Catholic friends and Charismatic prayer group. Her strong will to live and her love of family carried her through her final days. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered for her beautiful smile, her optimistic attitude, and joyful personality.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Brookdale Spring Meadows Retirement Community, who cared for Dottie so tenderly.

Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; and her twin brother, Jack. She is survived by her seven children; Debbie Sullivan, Cindy Rutherford, Cheryl Sullivan, Jerry Sullivan Jr., Mike Sullivan, Denise Reely, and Deanna Zangenberg. She is also survived by her brothers, Tom Pomroy and Jim Pomroy; her sister Pat Dixon; and her seventeen grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, with 2 more on the way.

Friends and relatives may call on Thursday after 5:00 PM in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel. Parish Vigil will be recited at 6:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 am at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Butte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mausoleum of Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Our Lady of the Rockies.
