Diane Lavon (King) LaBuff passed away peacefully, and on her own terms, on October 29, 2023, at St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula, Montana after an extended illness.

Diane was born on June 21, 1956, in Butte, Montana to Stanford and Hilda (Plentis) King.  She was the sixth of what would soon be a family of eight.

With such a big family, Diane learned to be independent and how to take care of herself.  She was never one to back down from a fight with the neighborhood bullies and taught others how to fight along the way.  Diane was very competitive and enjoyed playing volleyball and softball.  She also joined a few bowling teams.  She was always ready to travel, near or far, for a fun night of Bingo, often going to Idaho for a weekend of fun at the Bingo hall with friends.

Diane was known to hold down more than one job at a time to support her family and make sure they were cared for.  She worked as a Custodian for the Butte District for 28 years before retiring at the end of 2022 due to health issues.

Diane is survived by her son, Jess (Maria) LaBuff; grandson, Payton LaBuff; granddaughters, Janae and Jayden LaBuff; and great-granddaughter, Karsyn LaBuff.  She is also survived by son, Steve LaBuff and family, and granddaughter, Ali LaBuff.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Brenda King; sister-in-law, Lori King; brothers-in-law, Bill Bauer, Ralph Boehm, and Tom "Red" Martin; and nephews, Tommy Martin, and Junior Boehm.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 4th, at 1:00 PM in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel.  A further celebration of Diane's life will follow at the McQueen Athletic Club.
