Dennis Dwayne King, age 71, passed away on March 13, 2026 peacefully in his sleep after battling health issues with chronic COPD.  Dennis was born to Stanford and Hilda King on September 23, 1954 along with his twin brother, Doug.  He was the beloved spouse of Lori (Hossack) King from December 29, 1974 until her passing on August 20, 2016.  Together they raised their son, Shane King (Liz) and their daughter, Suzanne Crossman (Shawn).  Dennis was born into a huge family which include brothers, Bob King (Cheri), Doug King (Francie), and sisters, Marion Bauer (Bill), Toni Boehm (Ralph), Diane LaBuff, Carol Martin (Red), Brenda King.  His proudest and happiest moments was becoming a grandpa to Skyllar Stepan, Jazmin King, and Alex King, and becoming a great grandpa to Braxtyn Stepan‑Doyle.  When Dennis married Lori he married into another big family which included Lori's parents, George and Betty Hossack, brother in-law, Bruce, and sister in-laws, Heather, Jeannine, Cristine and half-sister Marcia. Cristine was also a loving caregiver during the last couple years of his life.  She was a huge advocate to Dennis making sure he was given the best care possible when he needed her the most.  We'd also like to thank Dr Richard Schulz, Psychiatric NP at Fort Harrison in Helena for his unwavering support through the last couple years and St. James/Intermountain Health nurses and doctors that just recently treated him.

Dennis enlisted into the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served from 1972-1976.  Dennis always kept that big Marine Corp voice where everyone stood at attention when we needed a talkin' to.

Dennis dedicated most of his lifetime to working as a miner, a career that reflected a strong work ethic, perseverance, and dedication. Dennis was employed at Montana Resources, Golden Sunlight, Anaconda Co., and many other mining companies throughout the western half of the United States, where lasting friendships were formed and respect was earned among coworkers.
In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed photography, fishing, carpentry, and drawing, and especially treasured time spent working on classic cars with family, creating memories that will be held close for many years to come.
Family was at the center of Dennis's life. Remembered for quiet strength, loyalty, and dedication, Dennis leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, hard work, and family values.

Funeral services will be held at Duggan Dolan Mortuary at 1805 Meadowlark Lane in Butte, MT on Wednesday, March 18, at 12:00 PM with Fr. Patrick Beretta officiating.

Dennis will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
