Debbie Marie Barnes passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings at the age of 67. Debbie was born on May 29, 1956, to Ken and Judy McElhenney in Butte, Montana where she resided most of her life and was proud to call home.

In 1975, Debbie welcomed her daughter, Julie, followed by her son, John in 1983. Her children were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment of being their mom. Though Debbie faced many challenges throughout her life, she will be remembered most for her caring nature, compassionate heart, and infectious laugh. She loved crocheting, needlepoint, reading, puzzles and watching movies.

Debbie was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Judy and Lyle Griffiths, and brothers, Ken McElhenney, Jr., and Kris Griffiths.

She is survived by her children Julie and John Peck of Butte, father and stepmother, Ken Sr. and Sylvia McElhenney (Anderson Island, WA), sisters: Debbie Redmond (East Helena, MT), Cindy Griffiths (Las Vegas, NV), Kim Hamm (Rockford, IL), Koni Griffiths (Santa Rosa, CA), Karmen Millhouse (Helena, MT), and Candace McElhenney (Anderson Island, WA) and brothers, Tim McElhenney (University Place, WA) and Shane McElhenney (Federal Way, WA), as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Cremation has taken place.  Duggan Dolan Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.  Services will be held at a later date and will be announced by the Mortuary.
