Craig Joseph Britton passed away Monday evening surrounded by his family at his home.

Craig was born on March 20, 1943 in Hartley, Iowa. His parents were Earl and Mary "Broni" Britton. In 1946 his family moved to Butte, Montana. Craig attended Butte Central Catholic School and went on to pursue his auctioneering career and work with his father at Montana Livestock. He later purchased the Auction Company from Earl Britton and three partners. He continued to operate Montana Livestock and Britton Trucking until 1998.

He won several Champion Auctioneer Contests and represented the Livestock Market Associations to judge the World Livestock Auctioneering Contests throughout the United States and Canada.

He married his best friend and soul mate, Shirley Britton over 30 years ago.

Craig especially loved to be at his home in the mountains going on trail rides with his dogs and best friends.

Surviving him are his wife, Shirley; loving children and grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-laws, Joani and Jim Kissock, Anne and Jack Sanders, Kay and Al Hjellum, and Becky and DJ Birch; several dear nieces and nephews; and so many wonderful friends.

Memories of laughter will live forever. He will be sadly missed by family and everyone who knew of his generously and kindness. The Big Cattle Man!

Relatives and friends may call on Monday after 12:00 PM (noon) in St. Ann's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will celebrated at 1:00 PM. Placement of ashes will take place at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Humane Society or donor's choice.
