Cheryl A Woolverton unexpectedly passed away in Butte November 25, 2023 at St James Healthcare.

Cheryl was born in Butte, MT on May 1, 1957 to Scottie and Shirley Lochrie, she was one of six children. She grew up on the hill on Center Street, where she always said "I had to walk up the hill and down the hill with no shoes in the snow". Cheryl attended Blaine School and Sherman School in Walkerville. She decided early on that school was not really for her so she went to Butte High School where she got her GED. At the age of 16 years old she registered herself at The Butte Academy of Beauty Culture, she graduated and received her certificate.

Cheryl met the love of her life Carl in 1975 at Thatches Hatch, she was not even old enough to get into the bar. They married three years later on October 21, 1978 at St John's Catholic Church. She was over joyed when they both became an instant family as Carl had two children prior Sean and Kim.  Happy to start a family of their own they welcomed two children Eric and Jennette. Their children meant the world to them. The one thing Cheryl loved the most was supporting Eric and Jennette in all of their activities, sporting events was the biggest thing. Cheryl never missed a game, and you knew she didn't because everyone knew she was in the building everyone could hear her from the rafters when yelling their names.

Though she loved her concerts, the jitter bug, being around family and friends Cheryl's favorite roll in life was that of being a grandma. She treasured her time with her grand-children and loved being their nana. She loved reading to her grand-children as she felt reading to them was helping them build language skills, learn about the world, and it was their time together.

Cheryl was passionate about being a hair dresser, even traveling to Hawaii with fellow co-works to continue her training to perfect her craft. She was amazing at her job. Cheryl opened up her own salon before finishing out her time at Angie's. Cheryl received an award for being the youngest in the State of Montana and having as many years of service at the time. Cheryl retired in 2020 even though she still had a few ladies she did up until her passing. Cheryl did hair for 53 Years; her ladies meant the world to her. Cheryl became a part time bartender for the Butte Depot, she enjoyed all the customers that walked through door and don't think she would let you walk out the door with keys. She had the opportunity to bartend for Country Jam for a few years it became a family affair Carl and Jennette joined in on the fun and bartended at Country Jam as well as concerts, rodeos, and the fights.

Cheryl for many years belonged to several clubs, bowling, pool, beach volleyball, city league volleyball and the Butte Wrestling Club. As much as she enjoyed being apart of every club she especially enjoyed the Butte Wrestling Club, she served as a member of the board, started the wrestling club dinner that is still going today, after leaving the wrestling club she was still a big part of it, continuing to sell raffle tickets every year at the annual dinner. Cheryl also had a big part in the making of the High-Altitude Sports Center by raising a lot of they money. She was a vital part of every club she joined.

Cheryl will always be remembered for being the life of the party, the spark that ignited joy in every gathering. Cheryl's presence was life a burst of fireworks on a dark night and her sharp wit kept everyone on their toes. With her infectious smile and laughter, she turned ordinary moments into extraordinary ones. She had a keen intuition about people, she had a true gift for nurturing people.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents Scottie and Shirley Lochrie, In-Laws William and Margaret Woolverton, Brother Robbie Lochrie, and Aunt Betty Callahan. She is survived by her husband Carl, children Eric (Toni), Jennette, Sean (Erica) and Kim (Bob). Grand-children Jayd, Kolt, Kellen, Kael, Ava, Evan, Olivia, Grace, Jo Lynn, Bobbie, great grand-children Kashton and Kesleigh.   She is also survived by her brothers, Jimmy and Kenny Lochrie; and her sister, Heather (Raymond) Johnson.

Friends may call on Friday after 10:00 am in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel.  Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11:00 am.
