Charles Ronald "Jiggs" Field, 79 passed away June 11, 2024 surrounded by family.

Jiggs was born in Butte, MT on October 15, 1944 to Charles and Margaret Field.  He attended Immaculate Conception elementary and graduated from Boys Central High School in 1963.  After graduation he worked at the mine.  He was drafted in the US Army and was very proud to serve his country.  Upon returning from Korea, he went to work for Mountain Bell.  He worked for the phone company for 32 years and formed many lifelong friendships.

He married the love of his life, Ann Marie Shovlin, on August 23, 1969. Together, they had two children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson. He was the very best Dad and Papa, adoring all of his grandchildren and cherishing every moment spent with them. His kindness, fun spirit, and warm smile will be deeply missed.

He had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying camping and family time. He loved taking his grandkids on four-wheeler rides and going on walks with them. An avid photographer, he always had his camera ready to capture special moments. He was especially fond of visiting Yellowstone Park, fascinated by its thermal features. He liked to travel and often spoke fondly of the cruise he and Shovie took to Alaska.

Surviving Jiggs are his wife Ann Marie "Shovie", his children Charlie Field and Brandi and Beth Harrington and Jim.  His grandchildren Emma, Ava and Gia Field, Matt (Tricia), Colin and Cara Harrington and great grandson Ciaran Harrington. His in-laws Dan and Billie Shovlin.  His nieces and nephews Wayne and Nancy Cadigan, Ken Cadigan, Dan Cadigan and Scott Clark, Tammi and Bruce Allison, Sam and Ann Luoma, Heather and Mike Matson and Kate and Robby Farnes.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Marcia and Wayne Cadigan and Sister Patricia Field, SCL, niece and nephew Cindy Smith and Chris Cadigan, grandson James Harrington V.

A special thank you to Dr. Paul Siddoway for his many years of friendship and care and to the angels at Senior Solutions especially Paula, Wendy, Robin and Artie.

Friends may call on Friday after 10:00 am in St. Patrick's Catholic Church.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Butte Emergency Food Bank or Action Inc.
