Carol Jean Wood (Meyers), 73, of Butte, MT left us peacefully August 11th, 2025, in the comfort of her home with her husband, daughters, and granddaughters Taylor and Krista by her side.  Carol was born May 5th, 1952, at St. James Hospital in Butte, MT to Lawrence and Matilda Meyers. She graduated from Butte High School in 1970. Carol was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and was a beacon of selflessness. She married the love of her life, Calvin Wood, June 19th, 1971, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Carol stayed home raising their four children until she ventured into self-employment with her husband, running their successful business, Johnson Air-Land Express, for 36 years. They both retired in June of 2018.

Even during her most challenging moments, Carol always put the needs of her family before her own. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into creating cherished memories whether it was through shared laughter, a last-minute potato salad, or quiet moments of comfort. In her free time she enjoyed following her grandkids around to watch their sporting events, choir concerts, plays, etc. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and family to watch the 49ers play, explore new places and try new places to eat. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark of kindness and strength. She found purpose in taking care of others and making everyone feel welcome in her home. Even as she faced cancer with remarkable resilience, she remained a pillar of support by always prioritizing her loved ones' well-being before her own.

From the very first day of her battle with cancer it was clear how deeply Carol was loved. When her journey began in the quiet hours of the night, her devoted husband, Calvin, and 28 family members made their way to Billings to be by her side. Calvin and her children remained by her side through every step of her hospitalization and rehab, offering care and comfort. Her grandchildren brought light to her days with frequent weekend visits, filling her heart with joy. When she was later ambulanced back to Billings, Calvin and her children again followed in the middle of the night. Believing her condition was less serious, her grandchildren stayed behind; a decision they would soon realize was made in hope, but met with heartbreak. Upon entering hospice, Carol's home became a place of love and comfort. The rooms were filled with laughter, tears, and quiet moments with her children, grandchildren, and Calvin always by her side. Her last day was a testament of love as two of Carol's grandsons married their long time girlfriends in her yard to honor her one wish; to see her grandkids get married. During her battle she showed us what strength truly looks like; meeting each moment with dignity, grace, and a heart that never stopped loving. Surrounded by those she cherished most, Carol's final chapter was written in the language of family - a story of devotion, togetherness. and an unshakable bond that will carry on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Carol is survived by her husband Calvin; children Steven (Susan), Brenda, Kimberly (Chad), Shawna (Jeff); grandchildren Steven Jr., Madison (Gus), Gavin, Ashlyn, Ryan (Alivia), Taylor (Dalton), Eric, Cambria, Colter, Cameron (Brylee), Calvin (Katelyn), Keaton (Lydia), Krista (Tristin); great-grandchildren Remington, Baker, Jeffery, and Emery; siblings Larry (Jeri Ann), Art (Karen), Dorothy. She was preceded in death by Lawrence (father), Matilda (mother.)

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, 10:30 a.m. at 904 Yale Ave., the place she called home and loved the most.
