Another beautiful light has gone out in the world. Our loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Carol Anne (Lee) Simon, was accepted into the welcoming arms of Jesus on April 13, 2020 after a courageous battle with health issues.

Carol was born in Belgrade, Montana on January 11, 1934. She was the oldest daughter of Ralph and Helen (Palmer) Lee. Carol attended Emerson Elementary School, and graduated from Butte High School in 1952. In 1953 she met the love of her life, Frank E. Simon, and they were married a year later. In 1954 they were blessed with the first of their five children. Carol had a green thumb and had one of the most beautiful gardens in Butte. She loved her family, her pets, her friends, her country, and God. She also loved the Holidays and worked hard to make each holiday special.

Carol's volunteer efforts in the Butte and Wise River communities were numerous. She was a long-time volunteer at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She was known as the "Cookie Monster" and was also very proud of raising money for the Church bell tower, parking lot, and green house. Sharing her remarkable social skills and positive energy, she also contributed her time to the Bluebirds and Campfire Girls organizations.

Carol worked at JC Penney's for over 25 years, and most recently, at the Butte Civic Center, where she enjoyed the company of her coworkers, customers, and friends.

Even in her later years, Carol was outgoing and energetic taking piano lessons and line dancing.

Carol is survived by her husband of 66 years, Frank E. Simon; her daughters, Laurie (Steve) Petroni, Rosalie (Mike) Hackett, Lisa (Brian) Havlovick; and son, Bob (Jennifer) Simon. She has eleven grandchildren; Joe, Dan, and Kerry Simon, Nicholas and Lindsey Petroni, Tyler and Hailey Hackett, Alex and Loni Havlovick, and Mario and Mason Simon. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Harvey and Nancy Lee; and numerous, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Betty; her mother-in law and father-in-law, Margaret and Ernest Simon; and her beloved son, Frank Simon, Jr.

Private family Funeral Services will take place and Rite of Committal will be held in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. A celebration of Carol's wonderful life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Butte-Silver Bow Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter.
