With heavy hearts we share that on May 13, 2024, at the age of 51, Cari Jonart passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a courageous 2nd round battle with cancer. Cari was born in Butte, Montana, on October 12, 1972, the first child to Bill Jonart and Shelley Hoar.

Cari was raised in Butte, attended Margaret Leary school, and graduated from Butte Central High School in 1991. Cari worked numerous jobs throughout her life, but her most recent and rewarding job was working with children at a day care facility.

Cari loved spending time with her family and loved to be in a crowd. Cari never had harsh words for anyone - always smiling and giving the best hugs. She was a friend to all, and she never met a stranger.

On May 6, 1996, Cari got the title of mom. Being a mom to Ryley was the greatest joy of Cari's life. There was never anyone or anything that was more important than him. They were each other's best friends.

Cari relished the role of being a bonus grandma and was anxiously awaiting the birth of her first grandson Kolsyn in August. Cari loved being an aunt and never missed a sporting event that she could make.

Cari was preceded in death by her father Bill Jonart; Grandparents Carol and Lew Brown, Frank Vernos, Bill and Dorothy Jonart, and Al and Doreen Hoar; Uncles Jim Jonart and Mike Vernos; and great aunt and uncle Frank and Joyce Grady.

Cari is survived by her pride and joy Ryley Jonart (Brooke); parents Ron and Shelley Hoar, and Judy Jonart; Siblings Ryan (Leesla) Jonart, Chad (Summer) Jonart, Lyndsi (Quincy) Bourne, Debbie Chism, Tina (Flip) Hudon, and Kenny Hoar; Uncles Ed Vernos and Tom (Jackie) Jonart; Nieces and nephews Madison, Jaxon, Gracie, Finn, Prim, Blake and Bo; Her bonus grandchildren Kylen and Kortni and soon to be born grandson. Cari also leaves behind her lifelong best friend Kim Johnson, her four-legged couch buddy Chloe, and too many cousins and family members to mention.

Services will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 1:00 pm. Her family will receive friends and family beginning at 12:00 noon. A further celebration of Cari's life will follow at the Butte Country Club.

Cari, you have left a massive hole in our hearts. Your nicknames will forever be cherished. So, rest easy and fly high Boo, Care Bear, Auntie Bum Bum, Cari Dee, and Gramma Cari.
