Cara Dawn Barnes unexpectedly passed away March 31st, 2025, at Saint Vincent Hospital in Billings MT surrounded by her family. Cara was born on December 30th, 1965, to Carl Cupp and Kathy Malyevac in Anaconda Mt. She was the oldest of four children.

Her family eventually moved to Butte MT where she attended local schools. There she met and fell in love with her forever, Jim Barnes. Together they started their family, welcoming two sons, Jim and Jason. They were her absolute everything.

Cara was always a hard worker and was very well respected. Many times, working two jobs at a time. Her love of cooking brought her many years of employment at Lydia's Supper Club. But her many years as a Motor Vehicle Supervisor is where she found her B-SB family. Her loyalty to her customers and to Butte – Silver Bow Treasurer's Office will truly be missed.

Cara was an amazing gardener, cook, Wife, Mom and Daughter. Her love for animals was very profound. But above all, her greatest joys was her two Granddaughters. Whom she was so very proud of. We would like to thank all the staff at Saint Vincent Hospital for the care you gave to both Cara and her family during such a difficult time.

Cara is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jim Barnes, her two sons, Jim (Lacy) Barnes and Jason Barnes, grandchildren, Bailey and Bradie Barnes, Father, Carl Cupp and three brothers.

She is proceeded in death by her Mother, Kathy Malyevac

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
