Brendon James Rohan, age 71, passed away on May 17, 2024.

Brendon was born to Doris and Brendon Rohan in Butte, Montana, on December 14, 1952.

He attended St. John's Elementary School and graduated from Butte Central Catholic High School in 1971. He was a hard-nosed football player and a distinguished member of the 1969 State Championship Football Team, under legendary head coach Bob "Putter" Petrino. He was a proud Maroon and avid supporter of Butte Central.

He went on to acquire a degree in Criminal Justice from Montana State University in 1976. He later returned to school and earned his law degree from the University of Montana in 1985.

He proudly served as both an officer and a detective with the Butte Police Department from 1976 though 1982. After obtaining his law degree, he joined Poore, Roth and Robinson where he practiced law for nearly 32 years. He was a highly respected attorney and retired in 2017.

Brendon married his loving wife, Mary Beth Kastelitz, on September 25, 1976, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Livingston, Montana. Together they had two children, April and Matt.

Brendon had many accomplishments in his life, including being inducted into the Butte Sports Hall of Fame for being a national and world champion powerlifter.

He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with his family and camping crew.

Above all, his grandchildren were his legacy. He treasured the bonds they shared and found immense fulfillment in watching them grow, learn and thrive. His love for them was evident in every cheer, every shared story, and every moment spent together. The joy they brought to his life were immeasurable and he in turn became a pillar of strength, wisdom and unconditional love in theirs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John "JR" Rohan, aunt Mildred Flanigan, in-laws Edward and Edna Kastelitz, and brother's in-law Ken and Ray Kastelitz.

He is survived by his wife of 47-years, Mary Beth, his cherished daughter, April, along with her husband, Shane. His memory will live on through his devoted son, Matt, and his wife, Kari. He will be deeply missed by his beloved grandchildren, Riley, Sophia, Brendon and Camden. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Jolene Rohan, brother and sister-in law Don and Judy Bluhm, and brother Joe Rohan. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all that knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Butte Central Catholic Schools or the donors choice.

Private family services will be held. A reception to honor Brendon will take place at the Butte Copper King Hotel on Friday, May 24 at 1:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Brendon at a later date.
