Barbara Ann Fredrickson

Barbara Ann Fredrickson passed away peacefully of leukemia on November 5, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home. Barb was born on September 3, 1955 to Emmett "Jug" Cronnelly and Mary Clare Stanton and grew up in Centerville with her four younger brothers and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She attended Butte Central, graduating in 1973. Barb loved growing up on the hill and was proud of her Irish heritage.

In 1975, Barb met Dan Fredrickson while working in the legal department at the Montana Power Company. They married in 1980 and Dan was by her side ever since. In 1981, she left the Power Company to become a mother to their son, Shawn, and daughter, Megan. Once the children grew up, Barb started a two decade career at Rocky Mountain Clinic.

Barb was a loving and supportive mother who never missed her children's extracurricular activities. And she never missed a football game when her Stanton cousins were coaching in the Butte area. Later in life, Barb took special delight in her grandchildren who referred to her as "Nana." She also had a great group of lifelong friends dating back to her time growing up in Centerville. She always looked forward to monthly dinners with her 1973 classmates. Barb loved entertaining her family during the holidays and always called to sing you happy birthday.

Barb is survived by her brothers, Mike Cronnelly (Roberta), Pat Cronnelly (Carol), Tim Cronnelly (Julie), Tom Cronnelly (Kristi), husband Dan, son Shawn (Ivy), daughter Megan, and beloved grandchildren Clark and Helen. She is also survived by her aunts Nita Wriston (Bob) and Donna Carlson (Jerry), Pat Stanton, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Tyler Schwenk, brother-in-law Mike Fredrickson (Dayl), and sister-in-law Raylene Fredrickson. She also joins her grandmother, Helen Delaney Stanton, whom she adored.

The family expresses its gratitude to those who helped care for Barb in the past months and helped guide us through this difficult journey, including St. James Health Care, Copper Ridge Health and Rehab Center (especially Vera), and Senior Solutions Hospice.

A service for Barb will be held at Duggan Dolan Mortuary (1805 Meadowlark Drive, Butte, Montana) on Friday, November 10, 2023 with visitations form 10:00am to 11:00am and funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with internment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Butte County Club.
