Anthony E "Tony" Dennehy passed away unexpectedly January 11, 2023, a week shy of his 63rd birthday. He was born the youngest son of Edward and Virginia (Kelly) Dennehy, grew up in Centerville, attended St. Lawrence and Blaine schools, and graduated from Butte Central in 1978.                                                                           He joined the Marines Corps right after graduation and was in the 2d Reconnaissance Battalion of the 2d Marine Corps Division stationed out of Camp Lejeune, NC. He served in ( Lebanon, Norway, England, Canada, and various posts in the US and was honorably discharged in 1986. He spent the next nine years in San Diego as an aircraft parts safety inspector before returning to Butte where he worked several jobs including managing for Town Pump and as a clerk and auditor for several locals motels. Just prior to retiring he work and  volunteered at the World Museum of Mining. He enjoyed his dogs having 3 black labs over the   past 20 years. He was very proud of his Irish heritage, the Marine Corps and was a hard core Notre Dame, Pittsburg Steelers, and LA Dodgers fan, texting their game results (when they won) to all the members of the family. He was a generous soul and a good cook, his lasagna   being his specialty at the Fourth of July family picnics. He was a proud member of the Ancient  Order of Hibernians where he served as the chapter historian, a task he took seriously and thoroughly enjoyed. The night before he passed, he gave a spirited and interesting report on Michael Collins and Eamonn De Valera and the lrish Civil War. '

He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his brothers and their families; Ed (Jolene) Dennehy of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, Joe (Gaby) Dennehy of Bozeman, Paddy (Paula) Dennehy and Steve Dennehy of Butte and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

His funeral will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, on Tuesday, January 17 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
