Anna Marie Mischkot, 82

June 11, 1932 – August 26, 2021

Our beloved wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Anna Marie (Nolan) Mischkot journeyed to the next life and is finally re-united with her son, Frankie. After a short battle with multiple cancers, Anna passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving family in the early morning hours of August 26, 2021. Born in Anaconda, Montana on June 11, 1939, Anna grew up in Butte and was as tough as they come. She attended local grade schools and Central Catholic High School. Anna met the love of her life, Frank W. Mischkot, at a union dance at the "UC" in uptown Butte. They would often dance the night away to their favorite tune "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes". They celebrated 62 years of marriage this past June. Anna loved sleeping under the stars while camping and bowling with Frank and her many friends.

Throughout her life Anna loved and counseled many of her family and friends with fierce compassion and purpose. She loved cleanliness and order and cherished her home on the flats. She loved to collect mementos and knick-knacks and had an eye for unique old toys and conversation pieces. Anna would often prioritize her passions over being punctual.

Anna overcame many challenges in her early life that included hardships and tragedy. However, hand in hand with Frank, she persevered and built an incredible life with their children, grandchildren and their extended families. Though in her later years, she was introspective and "didn't get out much", her love and caring for her family never ceased. Anna spoke joyfully about her numerous nieces and nephews, including greats numbering over 100.

Anna was resourceful and frugal and helped support her family with various entrepreneurial endeavors and jobs. Her most fun job was at Al's Photo Shop on N. Main St. in Butte as a photo developer from 1957 to 1961. However, her favorite job was being mom. As her three boys grew up, she was successful providing children's day-care services and after the boys moved out, created a network of clients and other providers of in-home care and maintenance services for elderly friends, family, and persons of need.

Anna will be deeply missed by her husband, Frank. Sons Michael Mischkot and his wife Julie, John Mischkot and his wife Megan. Grandchildren Sammi (Luis) Cuevas, Brooke Mischkot, Michael Patrick Mischkot and Jacob Mischkot, and great-grandson Zion Cuevas. She is also survived by brother Neil Duddy and sisters Mary Sukovsky and Margaret Robbins. Anna has been re-united with her son Frankie Mischkot, Jr., her mother Mary Kopp, her brothers Frank Nolan, John, Jim and Dan Duddy. Sisters Teresa Cottrell and Agnes Cortez, her nephew Craig Robbins, and niece Jennifer Roberts.

When you think of Anna, please think of her enduring smile and beautiful soul. Remember the warrior who beat cancer once and battled ferociously the second time. Embrace her generosity, genuine concern, and willingness to help anyone. Understand that life is short, so love those you love with all your heart, help those you help with all your soul, and keep those you hold dear as close as you can.

Please come celebrate Anna on September 3, 2021 at Duggan Dolan Mortuary, 1805 Meadowlark Lane, Butte. Visitation is at 10:00 a.m. and service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Masks are required. In Anna's of honor the service will not start on time. Details forthcoming for the reception that will follow.
