Alice Roberts

January 25, 1937 – April 30, 2022

Alice Roberts, longtime resident of Butte, claimed her Heavenly prize on Saturday, April 30. She was 85.

Alice Monica Easterly was born on January 25, 1937, to Arno and Alice Easterly in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She married the love of her life, John Edwin Roberts on March 30, 1957 and they settled in Baton Rouge. They had two daughters. Joanna was born in 1965 and Rachel in 1969. In 1978, the family moved to Butte and fell in love with the mountains and the people. Their only regret was that they did not move sooner.

Alice was a devoted Christian woman who was an active member of Floral Park Baptist Church for more than 20 years. Although she was born in Louisiana, she considered Montana her home and loved looking at the East Ridge every morning while she enjoyed her coffee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Ed; her sister, Natalia Easterly Winans; and her brother, Glen Easterly. She is survived by her daughters Joanna Fritz and husband, Clark and Rachel Boyd and husband, Jim; grandson, John Fritz and wife, Kate Mercer; her brother, Arno Easterly and wife, Clara; and countless nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 3 at Floral Park Baptist Church from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4 also at Floral Park Baptist at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Mountainview Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Floral Park Baptist Church fellowship hall.
